Less than two weeks!

Less than two weeks until I leave for San Diego. How the heck did that happen?!!! Isn't it amazing how quickly time passes when you need it to slow down? At this point I'm managing to get a lot accomplished but I'm wondering if I'm just fooling myself into thinking that I will get everything done.

In the previous post, I started writing down some of the details for preparing for this trip but I didn't finish it so here are a couple of more items.

Trips in each country - about three or so months ago we were sent a booklet of the travel options for each country. It has a variety of trips to suit your needs - overnight or multiple night trips, and many day time excursions. Prices for each trip depend on the country and the length of the trip with the least expensive costing $25 and the most expensive at $1,250. It's fun to go through them and dream about all the things we can do in each country.

We were required to sign up for trips through the first half of the voyage (through India) by July 30th. I had a great time going through the descriptions and thinking about what I would like to do. Eventually, I signed up for two multiple day/night trips - one in China and the other in India. For the other countries I went with shorter overnight trips or day trips. I wanted to leave some flexibility in my activities with some of the countries so I tried to restrain myself in signing up for trips. We will be signing up for the second half of the trip while on the ship.

Foreign currency - we were sent information on a company that will provide $25 of currency for each country. For $200 they will send us money before the voyage that we can use in each country. This will provide a bit of freedom when first in port since I won't have to worry about finding an ATM immediately.

Power of Attorney - the Semester @ Sea administrators encouraged us to appoint somebody as power of attorney while we are at sea. I found a form for this on-line and it was totally easy peasy.

So, I've taken care of these details and am also trying to get all the things done at home and work too. It certainly doesn't leave any time to be bored, that's for damn sure!
