I slept in until 8:30 this morning and it felt fantastic. That is one of the things that I really miss-having a weekend for sleeping in. I finally got out of my room around 10:00 and caught the shuttle into the city. I brought my laptop with me and went to the Rex Hotel where I was told by a student that they have free wireless access. I have been so behind in my blog and posting my photos to Flickr that I was desperate to make some progress on it. I spent the first hour getting the blog up to date. It took forever to load all of the photos that I included in it. I was fighting a time deadline since I usually only get about three hours out of my laptop battery before it shuts down on me.
As soon as the blog was done I was able to get my pictures from Japan loaded. After that I started running into trouble. Flickr was misbehaving so I wasn't able to get my China, Hong Kong, or Vietnam pictures uploaded. What a pain in the patoot. I was in the lounge for three hours and still had so much left to do when the battery started giving me warnings. Grrrr!
I went back to the ship to drop off my laptop and get some lunch and then went back into the city for some shopping. I went to a couple of stores and the big market that I visited the first day. I had fun bargaining with the merchants but it was so hot and humid that I started to fade rather quickly. I walked around the city a little bit then decided enough was enough and went back to the ship for a shower and dinner.
It's been a rather unremarkable day although I got some useful things accomplished but I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a bit more fun since Eileen and I are going to the city tomorrow to do another round of shopping. It's fun to spend time with her and we both love to shop so it's a win-win situation. Hopefully, I'll have more interesting things to write about tomorrow. We'll see.
