Turkey to Croatia - 12 & 13 November

The trip to Croatia has been a productive one. In the library I’ve been making space for future reference material and have finally finished that project. My next project is another cleaning fit with the browsing materials (books that we don’t catalog). The student employees have learned to take cover when I’m in that mode. It’s been desperately needed though and I’m feeling totally righteous about my projects.

I had dinner with my nieces and nephew on the 12th. We were supposed to meet at the grill for dinner but we actually had a decent lunch of sloppy joes and french fries and to meet at the grill for dinner would have been overkill. We are saving it for after Croatia when we have two crappy meals in a row (which is most days). I learned that we had a new head chef come on board in Thailand which explains the decline in decent meals. I think we need to have a coup in the kitchen!

We are landing in Dubrovnik, Croatia tomorrow and it is supposed to be friggin’ cold! My blood has thinned out so much from all of the hot countries we have visited that I’m sure I’ll be getting hypothermia. I plan to go to the island of Hvar tomorrow with one of the RDs (resident director), Megan. Our plans are very fluid right now. We have no idea how we will get there (ferry, car, whatever) or where we will stay. We just know that there are a whole lot of wineries on the island and that we want to visit as many of them as possible! What a plan! We will stay overnight and then return to Dubrovnik for the remainder of our visit. I plan to stay around the city for that time and do some day trips and save some money. The last three ports are going to be our most expensive so I need to save my money for the shopping. I have my priorities straight, thank you very much.

Well, it's almost 11:00 and I desperately need my beauty sleep (no comments, Scott!). It will be a couple of days before I update the blog again so I'll see you in a couple of days. Dovindenja.
