Life isn't so green today

Hi Folks,

Thanks to those who wrote and sympathized about my seasickness. It was a nice pick-me-up after such a rotten day yesterday. I'm feeling 100% better and am even keeping some food down today. The captain of the ship also slowed the ship down so that we don't rock as much anymore. Very humane of him!

Today has been spent getting materials available for faculty members for their first day of classes. It's been incredibly busy in the library - some of it due to location. Since we are in the center of the ship and totally open to everyone who walks by, we get every question imaginable. It's really testing our knowledge of the ship.

We had some relief in the form of our work-study students who will be helping us staff the library while we are open in between ports. That's a huge relief for Eileen and myself since the thought of working until 11:00 every night is very unappealing. Especially me, since I'll be taking the late shift until the students are trained. Ick!

Well, I know I promised a longer blog today but it is now 11:30 pm and I'm going to retire my librarian hat for the day and get some sleep. I'm hoping tomorrow I'll have more time to write something deep and profound - or maybe shallow and entertaining : ) Nighty-night.
