It's been another beautiful day on the sea. The skies were clear and the sun sparkled on the water. Unfortunately, I don't get outside very often. Definitely something that I need to work on.
It's been a busy day in the library again. The students are always asking for materials that the professors have assigned and they are desperate to get to them before their fellow students. It makes for some chaos in here. We also received all of the textbooks from the bookstore which had to be incorporated into the present collection. Our work study students have done a wonderful job getting everything organized.
This afternoon we had to fill out our immigration paper work for all of the countries up to India. It was a lot of paperwork! I felt sorry for the ship's crew members who will have to go through all 700 packets of paperwork to make sure that all of the information was filled out correctly. What an ugly job that must be.
I met with my adopted family tonight. The ship has a program where students get matched with faculty and staff members and form a "family" during the voyage. We plan to meet for dinner after each port and share what we did and what our impressions are. Should be fun. I was assigned three girls and one boy. I made it clear that I was more than willing to be their "aunt" but not their "mother". They liked that idea a lot and I told them that I have had plenty of experience practicing on my aunt skills on my three nieces and one nephew. I excel at spoiling them rotten and then letting my brother and sister deal with the consequences. It's good to be an aunt!
Not much else has happened today. It's been busy and productive but that doesn't necessarily translate into a riviting blog. I'll try to do better tomorrow. I'm taking a tour of the ship's bridge so I'll definitely have something good to report on.
